I always planned to become a correctional officer but found the exam preparation tough. Their course is well-structured though, so you have the chance to work through each unit of each module in a self-paced manner. The test questions also taught me where I was going wrong. For sure one of the best investments if you want to do well at the correctional officer exam.
I recently passed by correctional officer exam and I’m undergoing advanced skill training and development. I can safely say that the course at Police Test Study Guide was instrumental in navigating my way through the exam in the way that I did. The practice exams assured me that I was fully prepared – and they were spot on. I can definitely recommend this course to anyone taking the same exam.

I had to take Texas Correctional exam in just 4-weeks, so I didn’t have much time to prepare. I tried several books but didn’t really get very far. After some deliberation, I opted to try out their course after being recommended to it by a friend who made it through to the academy. And I’m glad I listened. I’m now about to be enlisted with the state correctional facility in just two weeks.
The memory tests are excellent. I had a pretty poor memory and focus before but now I feel as if I’m sharp enough to hoover up the finest details. That, and my overall deeper knowledge when it comes to law enforcement itself. This course doesn’t just prepare you for the correctional exam; it also prepares you for the knowledge you need to succeed in real-life scenarios.
I knew how difficult the correctional exam was going to be, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this tough. I used some local study guides provided by the department but didn’t get very far. I had already failed the exam on my first attempt and didn’t want that to happen again. I took their course and it offered some much-needed structure to my study. I ended up passing!

That’s the mistake I made, and I had an empty purse because of it. Moreover, I found their customer service to be excellent and really responded to me about questions I had about Texas Correctional test. A must for any candidate!
There are several stages to the Texas correctional officer test including a pre-employment test; a physical fitness exam; a drug and medical screening evaluation; a background check; and a psychological oral board exam. Only the highest-scoring applicants make it through to the advanced academy for skill development and training. Before we learn more about the Texas corrections exam, let’s take a minute to learn more about the department itself.
Correctional operations and management of inmates is overseen by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDJC); a state-wide body with more than 40,000 personnel and with an annual budget of $3.2 billion (2018 estimate). The current agency executive who oversees the running of TDJC is Bryan Collier. The corrections department also oversees a number of rehabilitation programs to reduce the risk of recidivism throughout the state, though many of these programs have yet to produce the kind of results that were initially targeted. In 2018, there were approximately 150,000 people in the state prison system with an incarceration fr
Before candidates can pass the Texas corrections exam, they must meet the state eligibility criteria. Second, candidates must take the 100-question pre-employment exam. In this exam, candidates are tested on their knowledge and application of math, reading comprehension, inductive and deductive reasoning, and a memory test. The test takes approximately 20-minutes to complete. Candidates who pass the exam must then undergo a drug test and medical clearance. They must also pass the physical fitness test that reviews whether the candidate has the requisite physical requirements to work for one of the most challenging and dangerous roles in the country. Passing the TDJC Physical Agility Test is demanding – and candidates are asked to prepare many weeks, if not months in advance, to succeed at this part of the exam. Competition for places within the training academy is currently high.
