Headed by Chief Tom Kisela, Orange police department have several specialized units including the Bike Team, Canine Unit, SWAT Team, Homeless Engagement Assistance and Resource Team (HEART), and Traffic Bureau. Orange police department is now worked by a total of 156 employees, offering protection and security to a total community of approximately 139,000, covering an area of 27 square miles.

To succeed at the Orange police department test, candidates must take three different kinds of exam. First, the police written test – which tests an applicant’s ability at math, memory, reading comprehension, incident report writing, and situational awareness. Second, candidates must take a fitness exam – testing endurance, upper body strength, and mobility. Finally, candidates take an oral board exam. Success at all three parts of the Orange police test means the highest scoring applicants will make it through to the local police academy.
