I failed the state police exam twice before and did not want to go through that experience again. The state police exam is tough and requires a lot of preparation. Using this course plus recommended books from Amazon got me over the line. Thank you!
I had to take the highway patrol exam but only had one month left of study time. That, along with my work, make things way too difficult. But given how structured the course is, along with practice questions, you quickly build-up the knowledge level needed to succeed at the exam.
The state police written exam is what I really sucked at. This course helped, a lot! Far more than outdated textbooks I was using. I can really recommend their practice exams, too – best experience yet to know if you are prepared! I would not have passed without this course; a must-have study tool!
I was taking the New York state trooper exam but had no focus on what and how to study. What’s useful is how structured the course is, and how you can work your way through it at your own pace and test your knowledge along the way. I would not have passed without this course, that’s for certain.
Wow! I was looking for a one-stop shop for all my police test needs and this is EXACTLY what I needed. I’ve tried other courses, but they have never lived up to expectations. This test prep guide, in contrast, contains everything (and more) to help guide your way through all aspects of the state trooper test.
The interview test is by far the most intimidating part of the state trooper test. To be prepared, you need to do your homework – not only yourself but also how to prepare for dynamic oral board problems that test your situational judgment. This course prepares you for exactly that. Thank you!
Maryland state troopers (MST) is one of the oldest state police agencies in the United States. Around 100 years ago, MST was formed in 1921 as the primary state-wide police force in Maryland. With the core values of Integrity, fairness and service, the agency aims to:
1. Enhance safety on Maryland’s roadways
2. Support citizens and their communities
3. Develop an effective and efficient police force
4. Enforce laws, prevent and investigate crimes throughout their jurisdiction
In 1935, the agency was granted additional statewide authority to enforce gaming, fish, oyster and other conservational laws. Moreover, the department also has the power to investigate police corruption allegations.
MSP has over 2000 employees, 23 barracks, 10 helicopters and 2 airplanes patrolling throughout the state. It also has a separate planning division “Strategic planning division”, which manages the planning within the department and oversees the finance and budget division.
It is worth mentioning that the Field operation bureau holds a significant position among all other divisions of MSP as it regularly interact with the people and its 22 barracks assist people in several traditional and law enforcement services and other additional services.
To join MSP, candidates are required to pass the Maryland state troopers test which is based on two main parts, i-e; written exam and physical fitness test. Written exam determines your capability in math, grammar, reading comprehension and report writing skills. Physical fitness test measures your physical strength through 18 pushups in 1 minute, 27 sit-ups in 1 minute, flexibility of 1.5 inches beyond toes and 1.5 mile run in 15 minutes 20 seconds. After these you might be called for a background investigation and oral interview or a psychological and medical screening.
If you pass the Maryland state troopers test and are selected by the selection committee then you will sent for a 26 week training academy.
