About Lewisville Police Department Test

Lewisville is considered one of the fastest growing cities of the country and 33rd most populous city in the state of Texas, with a population of 109,212. Incorporated on 15th January 1925, the city was originally named as “Halford’s Prairie”. Lewisville is located in the Denton County, between the Grand Prairie and Texas Blackland Prairies. It is a suburb and a recreational hub of Dallas-Fort Worth complex due to its nearness to the Lewisville Lake. The coming of first railroad in the city expanded is transportation infrastructure and fueled its initial growth. With rapid suburban growth, the Lewisville chamber of commerce designated the city with the name of “City of expanding horizons”. MCL grand theater is known as the city’s hub of cultural arts, which hosts several meetings, films and is a place for artistic performances.

Formed in 1884, Lewisville police department is the official law enforcement agency, as accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Lewisville police department is split into 3 bureaus: patrol bureau, support bureau, and civilian services bureau. It is currently commanded by the Chief of Police, Kevin Deaver. Now, the department has a workforce of over 299 full-time employees, including officers and support staff. The department headquarters is located at:

To pass the Lewisville police department test, candidates must take a three-part examination. The police written test examines the candidate’s knowledge of math, memory, grammar/spelling, incident report writing, and reading comprehension. The physical abilities test examines a candidate’s performance at endurance, upper body strength, and mobility. Finally, candidates must take the interview exam and may be required to undertake a polygraph assessment too. Only the highest-scoring applicants on the Lewisville police test will make it through to the academy.
