Amazing! I bought several books from Amazon and none of what I studied appeared on the exam. Here, the study material is way more relevant. I'm attending the police academy from next week!
I was already prepared for the written exam, but the oral board threw me. Didn't know where to begin. Thanks to Police Test Study Guide, I was confident to face the oral board exam.
I couldn't believe how comprehensive their course is. 70 units covering everything you need to know and more, even preparing you for what to expect at a trainee level. Can't thank them enough.
I really liked how they've formatted the course. It's fully interactive, so you can take it on the go and study when you need to on your mobile or tablet. Makes things 10x easier to pass the exam
Good course. Better than the outdated textbooks where you just don't know what to study. I came across this site by accident but it made a difference and I passed the exam last week.
I was a bit surprised by this. I failed my police exam twice before and just couldn't make it through. I tried their course and passed on my first attempt! Pretty good value too. Thanks a lot!
Jersey City sits across the Bay from New York, with Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty visible from its busy stretch of waterfront. Part of the massive New York metropolitan area, Jersey City is second only to Newark in terms of population, with 260,000 residents calling the city home.
Jersey City is very closely tied to downtown Manhattan, with mass transit connections into most of New York. Redevelopment of Jersey City’s waterfront and a shift to finance has created one of the largest banking centers in the world, a stretch of real-estate that’s often nicknamed “Wall Street West”.
Due to being part of Greater New York, it can be hard to define exactly what makes Jersey City a unique place. In fact, the whole of Hudson County is sometimes referred to as New York City’s Sixth Borough, with hundreds of thousands of people commuting in and out of the area every morning.
Despite having played second fiddle to the “Big Apple” since its inception, Jersey City does have a thriving arts scene and a rich cultural heritage all of its own. This budding scene has been boosted lately, with many less affluent people unable to compete with Manhattan’s constantly rising rental prices and lack of space.
Jersey City has had a police department since as early as 1829, and today employs 975 uniformed officers, 200 crossing guards and a further 200 civilian support workers across four separate districts.
For a career in the Jersey City Police Department, applicants must pass through the New Jersey State Police Training Academy, who give trainees the skills they require to become sworn police officers.
To pass the initial entrance test, applicants will have to show competence in a written and physical exam, as well as taking part in a structured oral assessment and polygraph analysis.
The New Jersey State Police Training Academy test includes 24 weeks of intensive physical and academic preparation, with recruits studying criminal justice, human behavior, tactical firearms training and criminal investigation.
Application forms for the Jersey City Police Department test can be found online.
