I failed the state police exam twice before and did not want to go through that experience again. The state police exam is tough and requires a lot of preparation. Using this course plus recommended books from Amazon got me over the line. Thank you!
I had to take the highway patrol exam but only had one month left of study time. That, along with my work, make things way too difficult. But given how structured the course is, along with practice questions, you quickly build-up the knowledge level needed to succeed at the exam.

The state police written exam is what I really sucked at. This course helped, a lot! Far more than outdated textbooks I was using. I can really recommend their practice exams, too – best experience yet to know if you are prepared! I would not have passed without this course; a must-have study tool!
I was taking the New York state trooper exam but had no focus on what and how to study. What’s useful is how structured the course is, and how you can work your way through it at your own pace and test your knowledge along the way. I would not have passed without this course, that’s for certain.
Wow! I was looking for a one-stop shop for all my police test needs and this is EXACTLY what I needed. I’ve tried other courses, but they have never lived up to expectations. This test prep guide, in contrast, contains everything (and more) to help guide your way through all aspects of the state trooper test.

The interview test is by far the most intimidating part of the state trooper test. To be prepared, you need to do your homework – not only yourself but also how to prepare for dynamic oral board problems that test your situational judgment. This course prepares you for exactly that. Thank you!
Iowa state troopers (IST) is a state-wide police agency, responsible for patrolling over 112,000 miles area. Currently, more than 500 troopers of IST are active in the state-wide jurisdiction to fulfill their mission of preserving lives, rights and properties through courtesy, service and protection. The primary purpose of ISP is to enforce vehicle laws and to help out in emergencies or incidents. Headed by the agency chief, Colonel Nathan Fulk, ISP is operating in 16 districts of Iowa. Initially consisting of just 50 troopers, the state troopers was established in 1935. Till date, Oran H. Pape has been known for being the only trooper to be murdered on the line of duty in 1936.
The agency is composed of different troopers groups, exhibiting differentiated role of duties. The troopers groups are:
• Troopers I’s- troopers assigned to Iowa capitol complex at 16th district.
• Troopers ll’s- standard peace officers of ISP.
• Troopers lll’s- senior troopers (leaders among the other troopers).
Despite the fact that all the divisions of ISP have been actively working but the division of investigation has especially been an arm of the state troopers.
The Iowa state troopers test is conducted to recruit troopers that fulfills the needs and are flexible enough to perform the duties. To succeed at Iowa state troopers test, candidates are required to pass the 10 step procedure. This procedure includes:

• Oral board interview- candidates are evaluated in an interview with 3 employees of the department.
• Polygraph evaluation- lie detector test.
• Psychological evaluation- includes MMPI (Minnesota Multi-Phasic Personality Inventory), consisting of 567 true and false q=statements and the candidates are also interviewed by the department’s psychologist.
• Medical evaluation- used to determine the candidate’s ability to perform the duties.
• Background investigation- during this process the candidate’s references, personal information, education and employment history are checked.
