I failed the state police exam twice before and did not want to go through that experience again. The state police exam is tough and requires a lot of preparation. Using this course plus recommended books from Amazon got me over the line. Thank you!
I had to take the highway patrol exam but only had one month left of study time. That, along with my work, make things way too difficult. But given how structured the course is, along with practice questions, you quickly build-up the knowledge level needed to succeed at the exam.
The state police written exam is what I really sucked at. This course helped, a lot! Far more than outdated textbooks I was using. I can really recommend their practice exams, too – best experience yet to know if you are prepared! I would not have passed without this course; a must-have study tool!
I was taking the New York state trooper exam but had no focus on what and how to study. What’s useful is how structured the course is, and how you can work your way through it at your own pace and test your knowledge along the way. I would not have passed without this course, that’s for certain.
Wow! I was looking for a one-stop shop for all my police test needs and this is EXACTLY what I needed. I’ve tried other courses, but they have never lived up to expectations. This test prep guide, in contrast, contains everything (and more) to help guide your way through all aspects of the state trooper test.
The interview test is by far the most intimidating part of the state trooper test. To be prepared, you need to do your homework – not only yourself but also how to prepare for dynamic oral board problems that test your situational judgment. This course prepares you for exactly that. Thank you!
Florida highway patrol (FHP) was formed in 1939 for the purpose of investigating criminal laws and traffic crashes on Florida’s highway. It is the division of Florida department of highway safety and motor vehicles. 82 years back the agency began with just 59 patrolmen in an area of 1,938,564 miles and investigated 1,000 crashes. Now, with a total of 2,475 employees, including- 1946 troopers and 529 civilians, the department enforces commercial vehicle and motor vehicle laws throughout the state and is charged with investigating motor vehicle accidents. FHP are also responsible for investigating traffic crashes in incorporated areas. The agency is having 9 airplanes and 31 dogs for patrolling services.
Florida highway patrol holds a strong history of successful training programs. Such as, the director of FHP started a training academy in Bradenton with just 40 students, and 32 students from that class were passed out by the end of 1940.
In FHP, the director oversees one captain who is responsible for office of professional compliance and one lieutenant colonel that is responsible for special services and patrol operations. The agency strives to achieve the core values of protection, courtesy and service by ensuring the security of Florida’s citizens.
FHP has been awarded by the commission for Florida law enforcement accreditation (CFA). Moreover, in 1948 it also received national recognition for its driver license program.
To become a part of FHP, you need to pass the Florida highway patrol test, based on the following parts:
1. Physical ability test (includes exiting a vehicle/opening a truck, running 220 yards, obstacle course, dragging a 150 pound dummy, dry firing, placing items and closing a trunk/entering a vehicle)
2. Written exam (testing a candidate’s capability in math, English language, general language)
3. Psychological exam (observing the candidate’s during a conversation or from a psychologist)
4. Medical exam (mainly drug screening and other diseases test)
5. Vision exam (eyesight examination)
6. Background exam (brief discussion about one’s history)
7. Polygraph test (lie detector test)
The more practice you put in the Florida highway patrol test, the more chances you will gain to succeed at it.
