Amazing! I bought several books from Amazon and none of what I studied appeared on the exam. Here, the study material is way more relevant. I'm attending the police academy from next week!

The oral board and incident report writing sections of the exam are what threw me. Having tried many other books from Amazon and online programs, this course was the only one that set me on the right track.

I couldn't believe how comprehensive their course is. 70 units covering everything you need to know and more, even preparing you for what to expect at a trainee level. Can't thank them enough.

I was very angry when I failed the exam the first time around. I was determined not to let that happen again. But by taking this course, I managed to not only pass - but comfortably make it through.

Good course. Better than the outdated textbooks where you just don't know what to study. I came across this site by accident but it made a difference and I passed the exam last week.

I was a bit surprised by this. I failed my police exam twice before and just couldn't make it through. I tried their course and passed on my first attempt! Pretty good value too. Thanks a lot!

El Paso Police Department (EPPD) is one of the most popular law enforcement agencies in the country, owing to its depiction as the “Tamers of the untamed west” in several movies. It is also one of the largest police departments in the state of Texas, with more than 1,300 employed personnel, out of whom approximately 1,100 officers are full-time sworn officers. Thanks to the department’s proactive and dutiful approach to law enforcement, El Paso has been ranked as the “Safest Large City in the United States”.
Motto: “Protect, Honor, Serve”
History: Although officially founded in 1884, the EPPD is said to have been in existence since the early 1800s. Patrolling of the city was done by city marshals, who were found capable enough to handle the “rough westerners”. These patrol officers were known as Texas Rangers. The Department’s officers also played a pivotal role in the victory of Theodore Roosevelt’s army in the Spanish-American war. Since its formal establishment, 23 officers have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Size: The El Paso Police department’s jurisdiction spans across 256 square miles, in which a population of around 650,000 million people reside in 5 systematically divided patrolling neighborhoods.
Headquarters: 911 N. Raynor, El Paso, TX 79903
Divisions: There department is divided into 3 major bureaus: administrative bureau, training, and special operations bureau, patrol operations bureau.
How to become an officer: The process begins by submitting an online application form and taking the El Paso police department test. This test is composed of a written examination, fitness test, job simulation, a comprehensive background check, a polygraph test, and an oral board interview. Applicants are also expected to also pass a medical and psychological test to qualify. Candidates must have a basic knowledge of the police department’s functioning and must demonstrate their capabilities with regard to core competencies in the areas of communication, logical reasoning and analysis, and teamwork skills. A minimum score of 70 percent is required to qualify.
Average salary: $45,407-$52,565 annually, rising with position and experience.
Police academy: After passing the El Paso police exam, successful applicants join the police academy. The 30-week training program conducted by the El Paso Police Department Training Academy imparts a wide range of skills and capabilities to recruits, including report writing, process and methodology of investigation, basic criminal law, defensive tactics, operation of police vehicles and training to use firearms. At the end of the training process, candidates undertake a licensing examination conducted by the State of Texas (TCOLE).
Registration: Further information on the El Paso police department exam can be found on their website. Competition for posts in the department is fairly high and only the best applicants from those who pass will be invited to attend the academy.
