To pass the Corpus Christi Police Department test, applicants must complete both a physical and written exam, a polygraph test and training modules covering skills like mathematical reasoning, memory and spatial orientation. Prospective officers are also required to undergo psychological evaluation and a thorough medical exam.
Once accepted, The Corpus Christi Police Department requires trainee officers to participate in a police academy that consists of 31 weeks of intense instruction covering every aspect of police work, from tactical training to criminal law and crime scene investigation.
