Amazing! I bought several books from Amazon and none of what I studied appeared on the exam. Here, the study material is way more relevant. I'm attending the police academy from next week!
The oral board and incident report writing sections of the exam are what threw me. Having tried many other books from Amazon and online programs, this course was the only one that set me on the right track.
I couldn't believe how comprehensive their course is. 70 units covering everything you need to know and more, even preparing you for what to expect at a trainee level. Can't thank them enough.
The practice questions are just what I needed. More importantly, each answer explanation was detailed so I was plugging gaps in my knowledge all the way through the course. Can't fault it!.
Excellent course. Better than the outdated textbooks where you just don't know what to study. I came across this site by accident but it made a difference and I passed the exam last week.
I was a bit surprised by this. I failed my police exam twice before and just couldn't make it through. I tried their course and passed on my first attempt! Pretty good value too. Thanks a lot!
Bakersfield, with a population of 380,000 people, lies at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley in California. Bakersfield is an important hub for agriculture and oil production, and also contributes to the mining, natural gas and refining industries.
Bakersfield’s origins date back to 1861, when pioneers were drawn to the area due to the discovery of gold deposits and large oil reserves. Despite the Bakersfield’s industrial underpinnings, there are a number of important historic sites and protected buildings within the city, and Bakersfield’s city limits also extend into the Sequoia National Forest and Greenhorn Mountain Range.
Bakersfield might have a reputation as something of an agricultural and industrial town, but with miles of bike paths and hiking trails and a location that’s close to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the city enjoys a convenient position that also puts it directly between Los Angeles and San Fransisco.
The Bakersfield Police Department has over 590 sworn officers and professional staff, and polices an area covering 151 square miles. The main department headquarters is located at 1601 Truxtun Avenue and administers six separate zones and two main police stations. The department was formed at the city’s incorporation, back in 1898.
To pass the Bakersfield Police Department test, applicants must complete both a physical and written exam as well as training modules covering skills like mathematical reasoning, memory and spatial orientation. Prospective officers are also required to undergo psychological evaluation including a polygraph test and also a thorough medical examination.
Once accepted, the Bakersfield Police Department requires recruits to participate in a police academy that consists of 900 hours of intense instruction covering every aspect of police work, from tactical training to criminal law and crime scene investigation.
