I always planned to become a correctional officer but found the exam preparation tough. Their course is well-structured though, so you have the chance to work through each unit of each module in a self-paced manner. The test questions also taught me where I was going wrong. For sure one of the best investments if you want to do well at the correctional officer exam.
I recently passed by correctional officer exam and I’m undergoing advanced skill training and development. I can safely say that the course at Police Test Study Guide was instrumental in navigating my way through the exam in the way that I did. The practice exams assured me that I was fully prepared – and they were spot on. I can definitely recommend this course to anyone taking the same exam.

I had to take Alabama Correctional exam in just 4-weeks, so I didn’t have much time to prepare. I tried several books but didn’t really get very far. After some deliberation, I opted to try out their course after being recommended to it by a friend who made it through to the academy. And I’m glad I listened. I’m now about to be enlisted with the state correctional facility in just two weeks.
The memory tests are excellent. I had a pretty poor memory and focus before but now I feel as if I’m sharp enough to hoover up the finest details. That, and my overall deeper knowledge when it comes to law enforcement itself. This course doesn’t just prepare you for the correctional exam; it also prepares you for the knowledge you need to succeed in real-life scenarios.
I knew how difficult the correctional exam was going to be, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this tough. I used some local study guides provided by the department but didn’t get very far. I had already failed the exam on my first attempt and didn’t want that to happen again. I took their course and it offered some much-needed structure to my study. I ended up passing!

Moreover, I found their customer service to be excellent and really responded to me about questions I had about Alabama Correctional test. A must for any candidate!
Thinking about joining Alabama Department of Corrections?
Competition for places is high and only the very best candidates make it through the Alabama correctional officer test. That “test” is really a number of tests which includes a written examination, a physical abilities test, an oral board interview and psychological evaluation; a medical and drug screening evaluation; and – once all of these tests are passed; the highest scoring candidates who pass the Alabama corrections exam make it through to the academy for an 11-week training program in Selma. There, cadets are expected to live on campus from Sunday through to Thursday. Candidates who successfully navigate this training program will be certified by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC).
Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) is notorious in the United States for having the most crowded inmate prison facilities. In 2015, for instance, the prison system held 11,000 more inmates than were intended for the system – 24,000 inmates versus an intended population of 13,000 inmates. ADOC has the 5th highest incarceration rate in the United States. There are also many ongoing legal disputes regarding the constitutionality of these conditions as well as the ongoing rampant violence, drugs, and sexual abuse. Therefore, joining ADOC at this time comes with added risks that do not apply to most other correctional facilities in the United States. ADOC has 15 prison facilities and 18 work releases – all of which is currently led by the agency executive, Jefferson S. Dunn.
To succeed at the Alabama correctional officer test, candidates must take a written test that examines basic math, reading comprehension, memory skills, and communication. Candidates must take a physical fitness test that reviews a candidate’s performance at doing 19 push-ups in 1-minute; 22 sit-ups in 1-minute; and a 1.5-mile run to be completed in under 17 minutes and 28 seconds. Candidates are also required to undergo an obstacle course, pushing a vehicle for 15-feet, performing trigger pulls, and climbing and traversing balance beams.
Competition for places at the training academy are very high.
